Our Process

Your project begins with a discovery phase to help us understand the final product you have in mind. You share your hopes and then we explore the opportunities with you.

We utilize our experience to prepare a truly unique product.

For stock item requests, the planning phase includes:

  • Checking stock and availability of shirts, etc.
  • Ensure we have all the pertinent information to begin creating your product. We will contact you via email if we have any questions about your order.

For Special Requests, the planning phase can include:

  • We research your desired design or discuss with you any mock-ups or art you submit to us.
  • Creation of mock-ups. We’ll send them to you to allow you to get an idea of what your shirts will look like.
  • Checking stock and availability of shirts, etc.
  • This is a revisionary process (the number of revisions depends on your project needs and budget), so if our first attempt isn’t quite what you’re looking for, we can incorporate your feedback into subsequent designs.

This stage is when we create your wearable work of art.

Without revealing trade secrets, here’s a few of the steps we do:

  • We start with new, never worn products made from 100% cotton.
  • Some say that Michelangelo believed that his sculptures were already complete within the marble – he was just removing the excess material. We are no Michelangelo, but our process is much the same – we remove colour from the product to imprint your design (and create a work of art).
  • As such, we can create some remarkable shirts but we aren’t adding colours:  a black shirt reveals aN orange-ish colour, purple gives a wonderful pink colour, royal blue turns light grey and so on.
  • We can adjust the colouring to a small degree by varying timing and sometimes by even adding heat.
  • We must also begin with a dark coloured product made of 100% cotton (or nearly 100%) or the process won’t work.
  • It is also important to note, each and every product is unique. No two shirts come out the same. That is part of the beauty of the process. However, please don’t expect identical results.
  • The product is then cleaned and goes through our Outgoing Quality Control Specialist. Our OQC Specialist ensures that only the best products are shipped.

Your work of art is complete. Based on the preferences you’ve given, we’ll deliver your order.  Once you have received your Cheig Shop purchase, we’re here to answer your questions or resolve any problems with the order. Please feel free to reach out to us should you need assistance or if you would like to discuss your next project with Cheig Shop.
